Congratulations on your acceptance. Here are the next steps to prepare for your term abroad:

  • Complete your Intent to Register form and pay the advance deposit. You must pay the advance deposit within 10 days of your acceptance to the program. This fee does not apply to Discovery Florence students. (Please click here for more information.) This also generates an SU ID number, which will give you access to your personal account on the SU system.
  • Review the visa information for your program country. A study visa for a semester or longer is required all our center programs (except England, which allows you to study for up to 6 months without a visa). Some countries require visa applications 8 weeks before the program begins.
  • Complete and submit your Post-Acceptance Forms that cover housing preferences, health information, and insurance coverage.

Check out the topics in the top left corner for more information on preparing for your semester abroad. Or contact SU Abroad at suabroad@syr.edu or 800-235-3472.
