Architectural theory and design in Italy from 1400–1520, with a special emphasis on the humanistic tradition. Examines relationship of Early Renaissance architecture to classical and medieval precedents. Covers Brunelleschi, Michelozzo, Alberti, Francesco di Giorgio, Bramante and others. The course includes an “Ideal City” day trip as well as local site visits. Cross-listed under ARC 335/HOA 322.
