Taught in Spanish at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica. This course analyzes the different components of aggregate expenditure (consumption, investment, public spending and external sector) and aggregate balance. We study the unemployment and labor market performance. Each topic covers both traditional theories and more recent contributions also giving emphasis to empirical evidence and to economic policy conclusions to be drawn. The course objective is that students develop analytical capacity to interpret the data regarding the long-run growth of economies and the behavior of economic aggregates. (UC code: EAE 220B)
