FIN480.1 Finance II (at IEU) (Fall)

Open only to students accepted to the special program Madrid Center & Business at IE University

Taught at IE University in Madrid. SU School of Management Majors may count this course as a business elective, but not a finance major elective. This course will develop all the major aspects relating to financial markets using as practical an approach as possible. Students will be introduced to the world of finance, covering a wide range of topics such as the structure of the markets, the major products that are traded in those markets and the way to combine products through an asset management process. The student will be acquainted with an array of different asset classes and sub-asset classes in order to become familiar with stocks, bonds, derivative products, currencies, commodities, real estate, hedge funds or private equity, as well as by-products such as preferred stock, convertibles, corporate bonds, etc.

Credit allocation is subject to change.

The IEU academic calendar may require students taking this course to stay beyond the regular SU Madrid program end date.

Registration restriction: SU students cannot take both this course and FIN 471. SU Management Majors may count this course as a business elective, but not a finance major elective.
