JAM280.1 Beginning Metalsmithing I (Fall, Spring)

Design and fabrication of jewelry. Techniques and materials. Craftsmanship and the jewelry-making craft as a fundamental art experience. Basic bending and forming, soldering technology and finishing. Stone setting. Students may need or want to purchase materials more appropriate to individual selection (such as stones and extra metal for larger projects).

Course-related fee: A fee will be billed from Syracuse to cover the costs of a tool kit, models, and/or studio supplies (2017–2018 fee = $175).
