PHI380.34 Political Philosophy of Social Sciences

This course is an introduction to the very large history and philosophy of social sciences. In the development of the “scientific way of thinking”, which is one of the most distinctive feature of modern western civilization, the role of social sciences is no less importrant than developments in natural sciences. In this course we will focus on theoretical ideas in the history of social science through the discussion of a limited number of thinkers and topics, in order to retrace the intellectual development of our civilization.
