This course offers students studying social work, child and family studies, and public policy the opportunity to study both theoretically and on the ground the French and German approaches to social services, and to compare these with their American equivalents. You will visit various human services agencies (youth homes, centers for the disabled, refugee centers, etc.) and meet their professional staffs. In addition, you will participate in collaborative experiences with French students pursuing degrees at local Institutes for Social Work.
