Description:
Taught in English This course discusses complex financial decisions facing managers and the relevance of such decisions to firm value. These decisions pertain to capital structure, dividend policy, and mergers and acquisitions. The course is built around the following topics: dividend policies and firm value, main theories in capital structure, investment decisions under uncertainty, option theory and applications to investment decisions, managerial incentive and corporate governance, and psychological factors that affect investors’ decisions. For SU students, this course counts as FIN 455.
Pre-req: FIN 256 or basic finance and statistics courses.
Class taught by Tsingua's School of Economics & Management and may not be available every semester. Tsinghua's exam schedule for this course may require students to stay beyond the regular SU Beijing program end-date.
