FIA550.5 : Problems in Art History: Michelangelo
Description:
A seminar on the life and works of Michelangelo. Students present reports, usually on-site, on the artist’s major works (except for the Sistine Ceiling), as well as his poetry and the relationship of his art to the music of Beethoven. Includes a day trip to Carrara/Pietrasanta and an overnight trip to Rome, with special private visits to the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Gardens. A course-related fee will be billed from Syracuse (2008-09 fee = $505).
Students cannot enroll in both this course and FIA 433. Prereq: at least one course in art history or consent of the instructor.
