ANT380.1 : Chinese Culture and Society

Description:

Survey of Chinese culture and society that considers its geographical features and landscape, the important dynasties and significant historical events, great Chinese philosophers and schools of thought, religions, social conventions and family structure, masterworks of literature and architecture, and China's political structure and foreign policy. Analysis and discussion focus on events and social trends since the 1940s, and students are required to pay close attention to what is happening in China on a daily basis and put forward their views. Meets with SOC 380.1.
