PSC470 : Summer Internships in Strasbourg - Experience Credit
Description:
This course provides internships in local or international business and professional placements.
For some placements students should have experience in the field, and a high level of French. During the first week in Strasbourg, you’ll prepare for interviews. The company makes the decision after the interview.
You’ll be expected to carry out the projects assigned by an on-site supervisor, and will meet with your faculty sponsor weekly to report on your progress. Students may be asked to begin before the program begins or stay after the program ends. Students who accept longer assignments will have to pay for their extended living arrangements directly.
English can be the lingua franca for some businesses, and students are often asked to translate documents to English.
The internship is augmented by a weekly evening seminar, on-site visits, and cultural activities.
Students are required to keep a daily journal of their activities. Grades are based on the on-site supervisor and the Syracuse University Strasbourg supervisor ratings along with a daily journal and a final report.
