Syracuse University currently has reciprocal student exchanges with the following universities.  Exchange students pay tuition to their host university and no tuition to Syracuse University.

If you are a student from one of the exchange universities, please contact the exchange coordinator at your university's international office. Applications are first reviewed by your home school, and then sent to SU Abroad for review.




To Apply to Syracuse University as an Exchange Student

  • Download and complete the attached application form
  • Download and complete the attached SCIS form
  • Download course request form
  • Provide copy of your passport's information page
  • Transcript or Record of Grades for university studies
  • TOEFL results

           (The minimum TOEFL score required on the written is 550.   The minimum TOEFL score required on the computerized test is 213.  The minimum TOEFL score required on the internet-based test (iBT) is 80 (100 if applying to the International Relations Graduate Program).  The minimum IELTS score is 6.5)

        Note:  Students whose university classes are taught in English are exempt. 

  • Letter of Academic Recommendation
  • Financial documentation (bank statement or funding award letter) showing USD $8,500 per semester for room and board, travel, textbooks, and other living expenses
