With its mixture of Western and Eastern values, culture, and traditions, Hong Kong is an ideal gateway to China and all of Asia. Syracuse University's Hong Kong program offers you the opportunity to study the political economies, business, and cultures of East Asia at a pivotal moment in the region's history. As Hong Kong continues to move forward as a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China, students not only study–but also participate within–a political landscape and marketplace that will be as important to the 21st century as the U.S. was to the 20th.
The Syracuse academic program, hosted by City University of Hong Kong, is designed to allow students to complete 12-19 credit hours of coursework in economics, political science, history, Chinese (Mandarin), or business. It is not necessary to have a background in Chinese language since all courses (except language courses) are conducted in English. The University is known for it’s professional programs that combine real-world experience with research and study. Extensive field study and intensive internships are key components of the academic program.
SU Hong Kong students can choose to take all of their courses at the SU Hong Kong Center, or enroll fully at CityU alongside Hong Kong students. You can explore your two options in-depth before choosing which program works best for you.
