Syracuse Florence provides a variety of technological resources to satisfy students’ needs. Desktop computers and printers are available in the computer lab and architecture studios (for architecture students only), while an extensive wireless network makes it possible to use personal laptops or mobile devices throughout the campus.
The University expects students to receive, read, and respond to emails in a timely manner; students should, therefore, check their email daily. The failure to do so does not absolve the student from knowing and complying with the content of any university-related communications.
While students are allowed to redirect email from their official University email address to another address (e.g. @hotmail.com, @gmail.com), they do so at their own risk. The University is not responsible for the handling of email by other service providers. Having email redirected does not absolve students from knowing and complying with the content of the communication sent to their official University email address.
Wireless access is available to SU students, guest students, faculty and staff anywhere on campus for laptops and mobile devices through AirOrangeX. Simply log on with your SU NetID (consists of eight letters) and password. In order to take full advantage of SU’s high-speed Wi-Fi environment, you will need a device that supports the 802.11ac (preferred) or 802.11n. Using your own wireless routers, wifi hotspots and Apple AirPorts anywhere on campus is prohibited. Go to Wireless Access at SU for more information.
Fifteen (15) PCs, networked to black/white and color laser printers, are located in the Computer Lab in the basement of Villa Rossa. Access is from the ground floor of the villa or from the Limonaia.
It is possible to print from your laptop to a printer in the computer lab or library after installing the necessary drivers. For instructions see:
If you are having problems, please bring your laptop or hand-held device to the IT Office in Room 20 of Villa Rossa, or write to email@example.com.
School of Architecture Studios
