Florence Students Welcome Families, Show Off Adopted City

Each semester, SU Florence extends an enviable invitation to family members of students studying in Florence that semester. For four (or five) days, family members can visit their students, meet their host families, explore Florence via exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, and (of course) nosh on authentic Italian food and drink.
From November 4-8, a record number of family members joined their students in Florence and took part in an itinerary that included a visit to the Uffizi Gallery and a private visit to the Vasari Corridor, a walk  through the medieval streets of Florence, a private visit to the Baptistery, climbing to the terraces of Florence Cathedral, and viewing Michelangelo’s David.

Families also participated in a hands-on photography class on the Ponte Vecchio, a wine tasting, and got a special view into the world of Florence’s American namesake Amerigo Vespucci.

Families of Spring 2013 SU Florence students can start looking forward to their own Family Week soon - registration for the spring edition of Florence Family Week begins in early December!
