Open only to Architecture Program students. Introduction to the complex historical discourse linking architectural aesthetics, materials and spatial compositions with the cultural and political reality of Italian Fascism. While engaging with the Italian architecture landscape from unification to the second post-war years, we study major architects and theories of the period from Terragni to Piacentini. Analyzing the relationship between Architecture and Fascism will provide an insight to the contemporary transformations of Italian urban and rural environments, both in the peninsula, as well as in the colonies.
