SOM354 Managing in a Global Setting (Spring)

Not open to Syracuse School of Management majors. Introduction to the concepts, framework, and issue of global business and how they influence management decisions: multinational firms; international trade; and the cultural, political, institutional, social, and economic environment of the global marketplace.

The learning objectives for this course are to increase student awareness of the global environment in which business operates, to promote an understanding of the factors shaping the global business environment and how these factors affect global business, to gain an appreciation for cultural differences, to enable students to appreciate the nature of the decisions made by global business firms, and to provide students with background knowledge in global business to serve as a foundation for other courses.
