This course evaluates the relationship between the mass media and the arts from aesthetic, philosophical, and historical perspectives. Students will also research particular problems in the field of Latin American and Chilean artistic development, using as a framework the rise, development, and continental consolidation of diverse mass communication media and systems during the 20th century. El curso discute la relación entre los medios de comunicación y las artes desde puntos de vista estéticos, filosóficos e históricos. Los estudiantes investigarán también problemas particulares en el área del desarrollo artístico de Chile, usando como marco la aparición, desarrollo y consolidación continental de varios medios y sistemas de comunicación en el siglo XX.
