Furthermore, make sure your visa will allow you to return to Spain.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Travel Registration Form<\/h2>\n<p>If you plan on spending the weekend away from Madrid,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/syr-sa.terradotta.com\/index.cfm?FuseAction=Abroad.ViewLink&amp;Link_ID=5F228DD4-5056-BA2E-6FD20FA9D605B5CB\">you&#8217;re required to fill out this form<\/a>. We\u2019ll only access the information in case of emergencies.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>International SOS<\/h2>\n<p>As a student studying abroad with Syracuse University, you have access to university-wide member services with <a href=\"https:\/\/suabroad.syr.edu\/health-and-safety\/international-sos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International SOS<\/a> (ISOS). The ISOS 24-hour information line is especially valuable when thinking about pre-travel questions, traveling during breaks, or visiting destinations where you have no local contacts and need medical advice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep your ISOS membership card with you at all times!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before traveling on your own, register your trip itinerary and associated information with ISOS so that you can utilize the benefits of their TravelTracker\u2122 system. This will assist SU staff if you\u2019re traveling in an area undergoing a critical event. ISOS will immediately contact our staff and facilitate evacuation and\/or an appropriate response if needed. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalsos.com\/members_home\/login\/login.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ISOS website<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n<p>ISOS can provide information regarding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medications you can take abroad<\/li>\n<li>Recommended or mandated immunizations<\/li>\n<li>State Department travel warnings<\/li>\n<li>Currency, electrical adapter compliance, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, ISOS will provide phone translation assistance for medical visits. However, while you have access to ISOS clinics and doctors around the world, you\u2019re responsible for the cost of services that are provided.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Air<\/h2>\n<p>There are many options to get to the Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport.<\/p>\n<p>City taxi cabs charge a 33\u20ac flat fare from the city center to the airport. The same fare is charged from the airport to the city center.<\/p>\n<p>With your monthly transport pass, you may take the metro (Line 8 from Nuevos Ministerios), the train (from Pr\u00edncipe P\u00edo, Atocha, or Nuevos Ministerios to Terminal 4), or the bus (Line 200 from Avenida de Am\u00e9rica).<\/p>\n<p>An express bus runs every 15-20 minutes departing from Atocha Intercambiador and stopping at Plaza de Cibeles, O\u2019Donnell, Terminal 1 (Departures), Terminal 2 (Departures), and Terminal 4.<\/p>\n<p>Departing from Atocha from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. every 15 minutes.<br \/>\nDeparting from Cibeles from 11:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. every 35 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The cost is 5\u20ac.<\/p>\n<p>Popular low cost airlines include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vueling.com\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vueling<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ryanair.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ryanair<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyjet.com\/asp\/en\/book\/index.asp?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Easyjet<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>National Center for Transgender Equality offers transgender students tips regarding <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transequality.org\/know-your-rights\/passports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passports<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.transequality.org\/know-your-rights\/airport-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">security checks at airports.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Bus<\/h2>\n<p>Spain has many different coach companies depending on the route. You can use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movelia.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this website<\/a> to figure out which companies run buses to your destination. The Spanish railway is a modern, comfortable, and convenient way to get around the country. While it is more expensive than a standard train, Renfe\u2019s AVE (high-speed rail) runs between Madrid and many other Spanish cities such as Barcelona, Seville, and Valencia and often can get there in under two hours. Renfe has also recently started offering low-cost high speed rail options, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.renfe.com\/es\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AVLO<\/a>. Other companies, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ouigo.com\/es\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ouigo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/iryo.eu\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iryo<\/a>, offer similar services.<\/p>\n<p>Trains headed to Sevilla, Barcelona, M\u00e1laga, and Valencia generally depart from Atocha Station, while trains for San Sebasti\u00e1n and Valladolid usually depart from Chamart\u00edn Station.
