The Field Trip Office is always accepting applications from qualified tour guides to join our team as Field Trip Lecturers. Lecturers lead students on day-long and overnight trips in Italy and Europe and deliver lectures on subjects appropriate to their experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare enjoyable, professional lectures for field trips in Florence, Italian and European destinations
- Ensure students get to know each other on the journey from Florence to the destination
- Collaborate with the Field Trip Office on developing itineraries
- Pick up the information package, first-aid kit and any cash needed before the trip
- Monitor the group’s overall safety and respond to any non-medical situations which may arise
- Communicate any medical emergencies or incidents to the emergency phone in Florence
- Prepare budget returns in a timely manner after the trip
- Provide timely feedback to the Field Trip Office
Requirements:
Mandatory
- Italian citizen or legal work permit for Italy
- Experience working with groups of US students
- Excellent oral and written Italian and English language skills
- Exceptional, demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional ability to remain flexible and patient in any situation
- Team-oriented, enthusiastic, energetic and friendly
- Licensed tour guide
- B.A.
Preferred
- Knowledge of study abroad programs, international education and the U.S. academic system
- Experience living, working, or studying abroad
- Partita IVA
- First aid certificate
- M.A.
