ARI280.1 Beginning Metalsmithing I (Fall, Spring)

Design and fabrication of jewelry. Techniques and materials. Craftsmanship and the jewelry-making craft as a fundamental art experience. Basic bending and forming, soldering technology and finishing. Stone setting. 

Syracuse University Students: Equivalent of ARI 243 – Intro to Jewelry and Metals

Course-related fee: A fee will be billed from Syracuse to cover the costs of a tool kit, models, and/or studio supplies (2019-20 fee = $175). Students may need or want to purchase materials more appropriate to individual selection (such as stones and extra metal for larger projects).
