Short-term Programs

International study with Syracuse Abroad is all about choice. That’s why we offer many different lengths of study, including short-term programs, which run for one to three weeks at various times of the year: winter break, spring break, or over the summer.

Available to Syracuse students only, our short-term programs are a great option if:

  • You’re unable to commit to a whole year, semester, or even summer abroad, but still want to experience the excitement of the world classroom.
  • You’re considering a longer study abroad experience, but you want to see if you’ll like this first.
  • You’d like to supplement your current studies with a visit to the locations you’re learning about

What You Need to Know

Short-term programs are offered for 1-3 credits. The extra credit(s) earned for a short-term program abroad is registered during the same semester as the related on-campus course(s) or sessions. This means that full-time SU undergraduates pay no additional tuition charge for the overseas program, as long as they have not exceeded the 19-credit limit for the semester. A program fee is charged to cover the cost of round-trip transportation, accommodations, group meals, etc. Fees vary by program.
