Introductory proficiency-based course which prepares students to understand, speak, read, and write in culturally authentic contexts. Activities are conducted in Chinese. Offered as intensive semester-long course for students with no prior Mandarin language training. Students register for a 4-credit comprehensive course and may also choose two- to four-credit modules on listening and/or speaking with the possibility of earning a total of 4–10 credits.
