ITA315 Italian Practicum I (Fall)

Required of all students accepted to Intensive Language Program at the University of Florence.

Conducted in Italian. The main objective of this intensive Italian language course is to prepare Advanced Italian Language Program students to study language and culture at the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri. The purpose of the class is to review the major grammatical structures in order to qualify for the placement examination students will take on the first day of the program; to be introduced to the interactive dynamics of an Italian language classroom attended by international students; to develop a richer vocabulary through reading newspaper and magazine articles, literature texts and specific weekly research projects. Special attention is given to syntax, written composition, idiomatic expressions, pronunciation and oral reports.

Prerequisite: ITA 202 or four semesters of college-level Italian.
