The course studies the historical and cultural background that led to the emergency of the crime-fiction genre. The course includes writings by the main representatives of the detective fiction whodunit novel and black comedy, such as Poe, Doyle, Chestertone, Christie, Hammet, Chandler, Simenon, and Highsmith. The course includes the study of the main representatives of the crime fiction genre in Europe and Latin America, such as Robbe-Grillet, Durrenmatt, Bernhard, Borges, Garcia Marquez, Vargas Llosa, Piglia, Soriano, Diaz Eterovic, Ampuero, Gomez, Serrano and Rojas. El curso estudia el trasfondo histórico y cultural que dio lugar a la aparición del género del crimen ficción.
