Housing

dorm room

During your stay, you’ll live in residence halls on Tsinghua's modern campus. All rooms are small singles, with private bathrooms. The rooms are Spartan and very compact, so you should bring luggage that folds up or requires minimal storage space.

Daily Life

dining hall

SU students have access to the same facilities as local students—library, health clinic, student lounges, computer clusters, and recreational/gym facilities. Tsinghua University does charge a small "per use" fee for some of these facilities-including the health clinic, computer clusters and the gym. For meals, you can eat at any of the inexpensive student dining halls on campus. There are also many western and other choices off campus.

Technology Tips

student desk

The residence rooms are wired for Internet, and there is a modest technology fee for this service (most students contract unlimited usage). We do recommend that you bring a laptop for use in your room, as the computer clusters tend to be crowded. However, another alternative to computer clusters are the Internet cafés available all over Beijing. Fees are quite low, and some cafés even provide usage for the cost of a cup of coffee.
