Students at SU Florence can choose from three distinct options based on language level.
Whichever you choose, you’ll earn Syracuse University credit. Which option best suits your language level and immersion goals?
Option 1
Study at the SU Florence Center
No language prerequisite, except as indicated, for courses taught in Italian. You’ll study at the SU Center, where most courses are taught in English. Also includes Italian language study.

Option II
Study at the Centro de Cultura per Stranieri of the University of Florence and the SU Florence Center
For students with intermediate to advanced-intermediate Italian language proficiency who would like to immerse in intensive Italian language and cultural studies program offered in the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri (the Centro) of the University of Florence. The Centro is across the Piazza from the SU Center, and enrolls students from around the globe.
OPTION III
Direct Placement at the University of Florence
Full immersion for students with advanced Italian language proficiency who would like to study alongside Italian students in selected courses at the University of Florence for one or two semesters. Option III students may also enroll in classes at the SU Center.
