Eurovision: The European Union, International Business and Economic Policy for the Twenty-First Century
Eurovision introduces students to European business, economics, politics and communications, and will offer them a greater understanding of the European Union as a political and economic reality. Founded after WWII to promote peace and economic cooperation, the EU laid the foundations of modern globalization and promoted liberal democracy. Students will visit leading European multinational enterprises such as Nestle, Moet & Chandon and Airbus and the headquarters of institutions such as the World Trade Organization. On-site visits and in situ briefings supplement lectures. Preference will be given to business, economics, and international relations majors with strong grade point averages. Students are expected to wear professional attire, such as coats/ties for men and skirts/dresses/ pantsuits for women for most of the trip. Course evaluation is based on attendance, quizzes and a final examination. Later in the semester, Eurovision participants will take an All-School Excursion to Southern Spain.
