World Partners

A World of Choice

In addition to options at our seven centers, Syracuse University students may also choose to study with over 20 SU Abroad World Partner universities. While these programs do not necessarily offer the level of staff support or features found at our centers, they do provide a much wider range of locations available through carefully screened institutions. What You Need to Know

SU Abroad World Partners are affiliate universities with whom we maintain cooperative agreements and exchanges. You’ll enroll through SU Abroad, pay SU tuition, receive SU credit & retain all SU grants and other financial aid. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered for World Partners options.

The World Partners program offers a range of models for SU students-from enrolling in small programs sponsored by other US universities (Africa, Costa Rica, Ecuador, India), to enrolling in foreign universities where most of your classes are with international students (Israel, Japan, and Korea), to directly enrolling in university courses alongside local students (Australia, Chile, Ireland).

Students who enroll in courses at foreign universities will experience the difference between US and non-US educational systems. In most cases, classes are larger and less interactive, and assessment may consist of a single final exam. Students must be motivated and disciplined to compete with their international counterparts.

Where to Begin

Read the SU Abroad profile about your program of choice, and then go to the partner university's website and course listings to build an academic program that makes sense for you. Meet with your academic adviser to be sure the courses will count toward your major.

Each semester, information meetings are held at SU Abroad to answer your questions about individual World Partners options. Check our calendar/news site for dates and times.

To Apply

Follow the directions and fill out the forms on the World Partners Application page.

Applications must be submitted to SU Abroad by October 10 for spring and March 10th for the following fall or academic year.
