Eligibility and Requirements

Designed for advanced architecture students in professional B.Arch or M.Arch degree programs, students enroll in a 6-credit design studio and a 3-credit survey field studies course. The program begins in Florence at Syracuse University's fully-equipped Donatello Studios, then moves to London where the SU Faraday House becomes the base for studio work, lectures, and field trips to Amsterdam and continental Europe. The program returns to Florence for completion of final projects.

Non-SU students will be required to submit a portfolio of their work to date. Please contact SU Abroad if you any questions regarding this requirement

Travel and Living

Students arrange and pay for their own round-trip air transportation to Florence. Transportation to London, Amsterdam and other program-related field trips is arranged by SU Abroad and included in the program fee.

Advantage Travel has arranged a group flight for students on this program. We encourage students to travel on the group flight, which includes ground transportation upon arrival. Please review and complete the attached group travel sign-up form to express an interest in being included on the group flight. No payment or commitment is required to complete this form. Summer flights book early, so request your seats now.

Please note that while we encourage students to pursue flight arrangements, we would not encourage you to purchase your airline tickets before confirming that the program and courses you plan to take will be offered in 2008. Please request written notification from us that you can book your flight. You will have to present this notification if we cancel the program at a later date, and you want to be reimbursed for the cost of the ticket.

Students will be housed in shared apartments in Florence and London, and in house boats or other accommodations in Amsterdam. Meals are not included. Students are housed in shared rooms in hotels rented by Syracuse University for program trips to Rome and Venice. If you choose to arrange and pay for your own housing, you must notify SU Abroad in writing at the time of application.
