Hui Huang

Hui (Helen) is the Assistant Director of Institutional Relations, based in Boston, MA. Before stepping into her current role, she served as the Director of Asia Programs at the Center for International and Intercultural Studies at St. Lawrence University for over a decade, leading efforts to expand study abroad opportunities and strengthen institutional partnerships. She later continued her work in international education as the Manager of Institutional Relations at CIEE, further supporting global learning initiatives. Outside of work, Helen enjoys hiking, dancing, and spending time at the gym.

Nico Perez

Nico was born in California but grew up in Illinois and the Syracuse area. He graduated from Syracuse University in Spring, 2024 with a B.A. In International Relations and Spanish Language, Lit. And Culture. Because of his interest in international politics, Spanish language and Latin American culture he decided to travel abroad in Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. During his time there, he explored the beautiful Patagonia and Andes Mountains and learned so much about Chilean and Argentinian culture! He fell in love with the amazing food, landscapes and historic cities and now wants to help other students have once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like he did.

Nico is super passionate about making study abroad accessible and finding the perfect program for the right student! He is more than willing to help students every step of the way so they can have the study abroad experience of their dreams!

Rhonda Chiles

Rhonda serves as an Assistant Director of International Relations.  In this role she is responsible for managing strategic relationships with Syracuse partner institutions.  Rhonda brings with her over 15 years in international education as well as a strong knowledge of STEM disciplines.

After receiving a BS in Information Systems from Jackson State University, she began her career working for various technology companies in the software, hardware and telecommunications industries.  Her experience includes several roles in technical areas, as a Corporate Trainer, and as a Regional Sales Trainer.  She then transitioned to higher ed, joined Harvey Mudd College, a STEM institution, and became the Director of Study Abroad.  As a one person office, Rhonda led the campus internationalization efforts and increased study abroad participation for all disciplines. Prior to joining Syracuse Abroad, Rhonda worked for DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia at their North American office.  Her external activities include serving on the board for Arcadia’s Center for Education Abroad during the 2010-11 year, NAFSA LA planning committee, and is a member of the Forum for Education Abroad.

As a child, Rhonda spent her first eight years living abroad in Taipei, Taiwan and Munich, Germany with her family.  She enjoyed both countries immensely and is excited to be in a field  that allows her to share these experiences.  In her free times she enjoys movies, travel, sci-fi, shopping, NBA games, and Pilates.

Veronica Whittemore

Veronica is the Assistant Director of Institutional Relations. She is based out of St Louis, serving the Midwest and beyond. Veronica has a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a focus on International Education. While earning her degrees, Veronica study abroad in Estonia, Ireland, and Italy. She has a particular passion for alumni programming.

Of course, Veronica loves to travel in her free time, but when she is home, she enjoys quilting, swing dancing, and hanging out with dogs.

Danelle Boone

Danelle has worked in various professional roles in higher education, since earning her Master of Science Degree in Counseling in 2002. She began her career at UCLA, as a career counselor and graduate school advisor, and also served on the undergraduate admissions committee. Her love of teaching offered the opportunity to lead discussion courses at UCLA and teach career planning courses at Santa Monica College. Following her previous study abroad experiences in Mexico and Spain, she boarded a ship, and traveled around the world with students, living, learning, and exploring multiple cities and countries over the course of 100 days abroad. Thus began her career in international education. Since then, Danelle has worked for academic institutions and education abroad providers, working with faculty, students, administrators, and advisors on educational programming, internships, logistics, and intercultural exchange. 

 

Danelle is a California native who now resides in North Carolina, where she enjoys outdoor adventures, teaching pilates, and exploring art, music, and culture.

Gael Noyes

Gael has worked in international education for 20 years. She started her career in admissions advising as the International Program Advisor for the Syracuse Abroad Florence and Strasbourg programs, as well as heading up visa processing for SU students going abroad. Gael then moved to work for the Study Abroad provider CIEE, as Senior Institutional Relations Manager for New York and Pennsylvania before becoming Associate Director of Institutional Relations and managing a team serving the schools in the Eastern half of the US. Gael has now made a full circle and returned to Syracuse Abroad as Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships where she is looking forward to continuing to work with Partner Schools and visiting students to grow enrollments for Syracuse Abroad.

Gael has a BA Joint Honors from Cardiff University in South Wales. She is originally from the UK and after meeting her husband, a Syracuse native, while teaching English in Japan, moved to Syracuse and has lived here with her family ever since.

Delaney Van Wey

Delaney is excited to connect Syracuse University students to the multitude of opportunities available through Syracuse Abroad. As a 2018 graduate of Syracuse University and an alumna of the Santiago Center, she knows first-hand the ins and outs of student life and the impact of international education. Delaney studied journalism, international relations and Spanish and is happy to talk about anything and everything ‘Cuse related. She is originally from Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!).

Nicole Collins

Nicole serves as the Director of Strategic Partnership & Outreach. In this role, she oversees recruitment and outreach initiatives at non-Syracuse partner schools, development of World Partner programs, and strategic marketing initiatives for Syracuse Abroad. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Nicole brings with her over 16 years of experience in global education, including crisis management, program development, partner relations, and strategic marketing and recruitment. Before joining Syracuse Abroad, Nicole held professional leadership roles at Miami University, IES Abroad, and Wake Forest University.

Nicole earned a B.A in International Studies from Case Western Reserve University and she studied abroad in Costa Rica at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma. Nicole received an M.A. in Intercultural Communication from Wake Forest University. While a student at Wake, she received a grant to travel to Lima, Peru to interview health practitioners and volunteer at a local hospital.

Ashley Barletta

Ashley serves as the liaison between Syracuse Abroad and the Division of Marketing  and Internal Communications team and works to develop and deploy marketing strategies across Syracuse Abroad’s various teams and activities on and off campus.

Prior to joining Syracuse Abroad, Ashley held marketing roles at various organizations including CVS and BJ’s Wholesale Club. As an undergraduate, Ashley studied abroad in Rome, Italy and graduated from Salve Regina University. In 2022, Ashley received her M.S. in Communications from Newhouse School of Public Communications.
