ECS325 Mechanics of Solids (Spring)

This course will focus on the following:

  • Theory of deformation, stress, stress resultants, transformation.
  • Elastic and inelastic constitutive behavior.
  • Equilibrium.
  • Tension and torsion of bars; flexure and shear of beams; pressure vessels.
  • Thermoelasticity.
  • Elastic and inelastic stability.
  • Energy methods.
