GEO380.17 Economic Geography

Taught in Spanish at the Universidad de Chile and may not be offered every semester. This course starts by making an introduction to the issues, approaches and methodologies used in economic geography, then reviews in more detail some of the most important issues, mainly from the perspective of political economy, but realizing the differences with other possible approaches. Among the topics studied include Globalization and its Impact on Economic Activity, Uneven Economic Development and its Causes, and The Importance of Location to Define Economic Activities.
