GEO380.9 Regional Geography of the World (Geografía Regional del Mundo)

The course introduces the student to the study of human geography, making emphasis in the understanding and valuation of the elements and factors that explain the activity of the man like a modifier of the Earth?s surface, in their economic, political and social dimensions. To relate the natural geographic spaces of the Earth to its human and economic resources, distinguishing the developed from the developing regions. To learn about the most outstanding physical geographic elements in the globe. Analyze population from a quantitative point of view in the most significant regions of the continents. El curso introduce al estudiante al estudio de la geografía humana, subrayando la comprensión y valoración de los elementos y factores que explican la actividad del ser humano como modificador de la superficie del planeta en sus dimensiones económicas, políticas y sociales. También se intenta relacionar los espacios geográficos de la tierra con sus recursos humanos y económicos, diferenciando las regiones desarrolladas de las que están en proceso de desarrollo. Se presentarán los elementos geográficos físicos mas sobresalientes del mundo. Se analiza la población de las regiones más significativas de los continentes desde un punto de vista cuantitativo.
