LIT300.4 Folklore and Fairy Tales in Italian Culture (Fall, Spring)

Folklore, fairy tales, superstitions, and rituals are all expressions of complex systems of concepts and traditions of a culture: they encode and transmit knowledge, shape cultural and national identity, and reveal truths about who we are, individually and collectively. We will analyze Italian folklore and fairy tales and develop the conceptual skills needed to  decode and identify the truth content expressed in popular folkloric literature, myths and traditions.
