The synthesis of aboriginal and European art, called Colonial Art, merits the interest of scholars and critics as a continuously developing national art form. The main objective of this course is to achieve complete knowledge of painting, sculpture, artisan work, and architectue, and their chronological and stylistic development in Chile.

This course examines the woman in the history and historiography of Chile, highlighting her “presence” and “absence” in the political, social and cultural arenas from colonial times to the early twentieth century.
