BIO480.1 Biological Invasions (Invasiones Biologicas)

Taught in Spanish at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica. Biological invasions are one of the three components of global change on a global scale. This course emphasizes the conceptual framework of biological invasions (theories, hypotheses, approaches) and its empirical evaluation using scientific protocols, using research by Chilean ecologists. BIO380.2 Wildlife (Fauna Silvestre)

Taught in Spanish at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica. This course allows the student to learn distinct management systems of wildlife and control techniques of dangerous species for agriculture. (UC code: AGZ 222)

BIO380.1 Microbiology (U de Chile)

Taught in Spanish. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive and updated general knowledge about bacteria and viruses, gene-transfer mechanisms and biology of eukaryotic microorganisms, relationships with bacteria, endosymbiosis, ecology and evolution. The theoretical part is complemented with practical activities and seminars, which will deepen some aspects covered in class.
