Requesting Your Transcript

Information for Visiting Students

Your home college or university will need an official transcript from Syracuse University in order to award credit for your semester on an SU Abroad program. Transcripts are not issued automatically – you need to submit a written request to the SU Transcript Office once you have confirmed all your grades are posted and you have no financial holds. Here’s what to do:

  • STEP 1: If you have not already done so, activate your NetID. You will need your SUID number, which was sent to you prior to the start of your program.

  • STEP 2: Check to make sure all your grades have been posted on Syracuse University's MySlice website (under Student Services/Enrollment, select 'View Grades').

Grades for courses taken at one of our centers are generally posted within two weeks of the semester's end. If you studied at a foreign university, you may need to wait several additional weeks after the program ends for all your grades to post.

If you have questions regarding your grades, first work with the faculty member for your class. Further inquiries or concerns can be sent to Amy Sturgeon - Student Records Specialist.

  • STEP 3: Check to make sure you have no financial holds (Syracuse University will not release a transcript if you have any outstanding financial obligations). In MySlice, under Student Services/Finances, select 'View Holds.'

If you have questions regarding financial holds or billing, contact Anne Mong - Billing & Account Specialist.

  • STEP 4: Request your transcript. Make sure you know the correct address for the office at your home school that needs to receive your transcript. Follow the instructions on the Syracuse University Registrar's website for submitting the transcript request form. Requests can be made through MySlice for students and program alumni (up to 2 years from last term attended). Additionally, transcripts may be requested by fax or standard mail. Syracuse University now offers electronic delivery of your transcript. Please refer to the Registrar's office transcript page for details on this feature. Please allow up to three business days for delivery of electronic transcripts and between 5-7 business days for processing of hard copy transcripts. Priority consideration may be accorded to requests with upcoming deadlines (if noted on transcript request form).

  • STEP 5: Once you have submitted your transcript request, you may check on the status of your request by contacting the Registrar's office. SU Abroad does not process transcripts. You can reach the Registrar's office by phone at (315) 443-2422 or at crecords@syr.edu.
