Estimated Personal Expenses: Includes hotel and travel during the break period, meals not covered by program fee, round trip airfare, books and supplies as well as communication expenses, laundry, weekend travel, and other sundries during the program period. The amount students spend varies according to individual spending habits. Select estimates associated with the Estimated Personal Expenses section may be subject to fluctuation due to France’s inflation and exchange rate at the time of travel.

~ La Canopée Refundable Security Deposit – $300

Students placed in La Canopée Apartment will be charged a $300 refundable deposit. This deposit will be returned to the student’s bursar account after a final walkthrough, provided no damages, cleaning services, or lost/unreturned/damaged keys are reported.

  • If damages, cleaning services, and/or lost/unreturned/damaged keys are found, the refund amount will be adjusted accordingly.
  • If damages, cleaning services, and/or lost/unreturned/damaged keys exceed the deposit, the student will be charged an additional amount on their bursar account.

Note for students enrolling in French partner institutions: Additional Tuition will never be directly billed to students. Program fee varies subject to student’s registration & housing requirements. Your academic calendar is likely to differ to that of Syracuse University, this means additional housing days are usually required.

Course fees

Some courses carry mandatory course fees. These fees are course-specific and pay for special supplies, lab fees, site entry fees and/or field trips. Course fees are invoiced on the bill following registration.


Financial Aid, Grants, and Scholarships

Syracuse University has generous financial aid policies. Aid, grants, and scholarships are available. Syracuse Abroad also maintains an extensive list of outside scholarships available to its students.


Payment Information
