Securing your place in the program
Paying the non-refundable Participation Confirmation Deposit is due within 10 days of receiving the acceptance letter. This payment will reduce charges such as tuition, program fee, course fees and any other charges billed to a student’s Syracuse University Bursar Account, viewable through MySlice.
This payment applies to:
- All visiting students
- All summer and short-term students
- All Syracuse University students participating in Syracuse Abroad’s semester Center programs (Florence, London, Madrid, Strasbourg, Santiago, and Central Europe)
Paying the Participation Confirmation Deposit by check
- Make your $575 check or money order payable to Syracuse University. Include your SUID number or date of birth on the check. Syracuse students can pay online, please see instructions below.
- Complete the Participation Confirmation Deposit by check form, and mail both the check and the form to: Syracuse University Bursar Office, 119 Bowne Hall, Syracuse, NY 13244-1200.
- Visiting students from certain schools may be eligible to have their Participation Confirmation Deposit satisfied by their home school. See list of schools.
Paying the Participation Confirmation Deposit online
Syracuse students accepted into a semester center program, summer or short-term program:
1) Paying by credit card or EFT from checking or savings account. Syracuse students can pay online using Visa, MasterCard, or Discover only. The third party processor is Transact Integrated Systems, they charge a 2.75% processing fee for each payment of the amount charged (with a $3.00 minimum convenience fee for transactions between $20.00 and $109.00.) This fee is established and charged solely by Transact Integrated Systems and not by the University. The convenience fee is paid in full to and retained by Transact Integrated Systems; the University does not receive any of this fee. The charge for the convenience fee will appear separately from the payment on your credit card statement. There is no convenience fee for payments made using the ACH method.
For Syracuse University fall, spring, or summer students going abroad:
- Use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox with the pop-up blocker disabled for the transaction. The Bursar process will not work with Chrome or Safari.
- SU students choosing to pay the $575 participation confirmation deposit online with a credit card should go to MySlice.
- Go to “Billing/Payments” tile
- Click “Please Click to Enter”
- Click “Make a Payment”
- Click “Pay Bursar Bill on Line”
- Click Advance Deposit-New Graduate Student $500 or Deposit Syracuse Abroad Students $575.
- Enter the Payment Amount ($575.00)
- Click “Add to Payment”
- Click “Check Out”
Paying other charges online (all students)
Once the Participation Confirmation Deposit is made (either online or by check) and received by the SU bursar’s office, all students who have an SUID number can make any subsequent payments online with Master Card, Visa, or Discover. - Enable pop-ups on your computer; the process will not work otherwise
- To make payments, go to MySlice
- Go to “Billing/Payments” tile
- Click “Click Here to Enter”
- Click “Make a Payment”
- Click “Pay Bursar Bill on Line”
- Click “Bursar Bill Payment(pay with checking/savings account, credit card or 529 State Savings Plan)”
- Enter the Payment Amount
- Click “Add to Payment”
- Click “Check Out”
