Participation Confirmation Deposit

Important: Use Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox with the pop-up blocker disabled. The Bursar payment system does not work with Chrome or Safari.

Steps:

• Log in to MySlice (myslice.syr.edu)
• Select the “Billing/Payments” tile
• Select “Please Click to Enter”
• Select “Make a Payment”
• Select “Pay Bursar Bill Online”
• Select “Deposit Syracuse Abroad Students $575” (the amount will show as $0.00 initially)
• Enter $575.00 as the payment amount
• Select “Add to Payment”
• Select “Check Out”

Payment Methods Accepted

• Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express)
• Debit card (Visa or MasterCard logo)
• Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from checking or savings account

Convenience Fee Notice

Credit card and debit card payments are processed by Transact Integrated Systems (a third-party contractor) and subject to a non-refundable convenience fee:

• 2.95% for domestic credit or debit cards
• 4.25% for international credit or debit cards
• Minimum fee of $3.00 applies to transactions between $20.00 and $103.00
• No convenience fee for ACH/EFT payments

Note: The University does not receive any portion of this fee. It will appear as a separate charge on your credit card statement.

  • Complete the Participation Confirmation Deposit by Check Form

Important: The Participation Confirmation Deposit cannot be paid directly through MySlice using 529 Plan funds. All 529 Plan distributions must be initiated by your 529 Plan institution — either by paper check or electronic disbursement. Please contact your 529 Plan provider to request a distribution and confirm which disbursement options are available to you.

Paying by credit card through your OrangeAbroad Portal is the fastest and easiest way to secure your place. Payment is processed immediately and your deposit requirement is usually marked complete within 24 hours.

To pay, log in to your OrangeAbroad Portal and click “Pay Now.” Please click the button only once — clicking more than once may result in duplicate charges. If you are charged more than once, please email suabroad@syr.edu promptly and the duplicate payment will be refunded to your original payment method.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the deposit to show as complete. If it is not marked complete within a few days, please email suabroad@syr.edu.

529 Plan funds may not be used for online portal payments. Please see Option 4: 529 Plan Distribution below.

Some visiting students from partner schools may be eligible to have their Participation Confirmation Deposit satisfied by their home institution. See our list of deferred payment schools to determine if you qualify. If you do, contact your home institution to arrange payment.
