Step 4: Submit Formal Proposal

The Formal Proposal form may be accessed via your school/college Study Abroad Liaison and will be made available after a successful approval of the initial interest form.

Deadlines for formal proposals

Formal proposals will be accepted two times per year, with the following submission deadlines.

  • January 20
  • June 20

Late applications will be considered in the next applicable cycle (e.g., submissions received after January 20 will be considered with the June 20 submissions).

Upon submission, formal proposals will first be reviewed by your School/College Liaison after which they will be submitted (via a provided link) to the Academic Affairs Study Committee.

Approval time will depend on the volume of proposals submitted but you should expect to be notified by May 31 (or earlier) for proposals submitted prior to January 20, and by October 31 (or earlier) for proposals submitted prior to the June 20 deadline.

Note: A successful submission does not guarantee immediate implementation. If your proposal is approved, the program development timeline will be determined by the Academic Affairs Committee based on the volume of approved new courses/programs across all schools and colleges, the relative complexity of implementation, enrollment potential, and other University priorities.
