SU Abroad offers over 40 summer programs, including traveling seminars, internships, language study, and a wide selection of course options. Financial aid is available. Syracuse University offers need-based study abroad grants to help you realize your international education goals. As part of the program and included with the course fee, you will take numerous overnight and day trips to local and regional sites of interest.
Summer 2013 update: Programs are now closed. Check back with us next fall for Summer 2014 abroad programs!
Students choose to go abroad in summer for a number of reasons - maybe a student with double major would like to catch up on some credits during the summer semester, maybe there's a course he or she would like to take that's only offered in South Africa, or maybe they just can't commit to an entire semester away from their home university. SU summer abroad also offers students the chance to explore a particular interest that may not align with their major - perhaps they're a business major, but also interested in social media best practices?
SU Abroad summer programs also allow us to offer a broad range of destinations to students - we may not have a semester-long center program in Berlin, but we can offer three different summer programs to students who are dying to visit the German capital.
Whatever your reason, summer abroad will help you grow as an individual, give you an international perspective, open your eyes to new foods, ideas, music, and people, and boost your resume.
Why choose between going abroad and doing an internship when you can combine the two? SU Abroad offers students summer internships in locations from Dubai to Singapore, for graduate and undergraduate students, and in disciplines from engineering to law. Check out the full list of programs here.
Our Strasbourg summer session offers students the chance to study international relations and human rights from the home of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights - or perhaps you'd like to gain some hands-on experience with a summer internship or research project.
The summer session runs May 23 through June 29th, and need-based grants are available. Strasbourg is a big city with small-town charm, an amazing place to spend five weeks of your summer.
