Syracuse Florence Student Services has an opening for a full-time position within the Health and Wellness office.
The Health and Wellness Office is responsible for providing support and resources to students while abroad with a focus on their well-being. The office also coordinates handling of student-related emergencies.
Responsibilities:
Health and Wellness Operations
- Act as Case Manager for student emergencies during office hours, referring or accompanying students to medical or mental health professionals when necessary.
- Serve as primary contact for students needs in health and wellness: medical inquiries, emotional and adjustment concerns, housing-related concerns, Title IX reports.
- Responsible for timely and accurate incident reporting.
- In collaboration with Student Life Office staff, coordinate extra-curricular Health and Wellness programming throughout the semester.
- Contribute to updating of safety and emergency response protocols; ensure guidelines are followed during extra-curricular activities.
- Arrange additional support through local health professionals for referrals and emergencies.
- Serve as a member of the 24h Emergency team on rotation outside of office hours.
- Collaborate with Housing and Academic offices to respond to student needs for special accommodations.
- Contribute to Housing operations to ensure student well-being and adherence to program safety standards.
General Student Services Operations
- Contribute to Pre and Post-Arrival Orientation session content preparation.
- Research and establish partnerships with local Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion resources.
- Assist with logistics in relation to general Student Services operations.
- Participate in student conduct hearings and administrative process.
- Perform additional tasks related to Student Services as requested by the Assistant Director and Coordinator.
Requirements:
- Advanced levels of Italian and English (written and spoken)
- Must be able to reach Florence city center within 30 minutes in case of student emergency.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
