Housing

Whether in a homestay or an apartment, the Housing Office will make all the necessary arrangements for your living accommodations and will do everything possible to make Florence become your home sweet home away from home.

Homestays

All students have the option to live with a local host family, something students consistently say is one of the best, if not THE best, part of their study abroad experience.

Homestay housing is mandatory for students enrolled in the Discovery program, the Florence Center & Intensive Language Program at the University of Florence, and the Florence Center & Direct Enrollment at the University of Florence (with courses taught in Italian).

Apartments

Most program students may also request to live in shared apartment housing.

Architecture program students are required to live in apartments, but may opt to live in a homestay upon request.

Student Residence

Student residence housing in Florence is also available depending on program enrollment and typically consists of a shared double room.

Please note this option is not open to Architecture, Discovery, Intensive Language and Direct Enrollment (Italian courses) programs.
