Syracuse University Florence is seeking an Administrative & Events Assistant. This junior, full-time position will support the administrative office with event logistics, institutional meetings, and communication. The role works closely with the Director’s Office, and coordinates operations in relations to events with all other relevant administrative positions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support in organizing a variety of events, including institutional visits, academic gatherings, and other university-related functions.
- Assist with logistical arrangements and reservations, ensuring smooth execution of all event components.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers, including catering companies, venues, transportation providers, hotels, museums, and more.
- Develop and maintain event budgets, monitoring expenses to ensure cost-effective planning.
- Assist in the creation of printed materials and communication content to promote events effectively.
- Assist with relevant communications and scheduling.
Requirements:
- Experience in tourism management industry preferred;
- Italian citizen or legal work permit for Italy;
- Bilingual competence (Italian and English, written and spoken);
- Computer literacy;
- Ability to develop and manage budgets;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to high-pressure peaks in workload.
