The Assistant to the Director works closely with the Director of the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Syracuse University Program in Florence and senior management providing administrative and logistic support to the Director’s Office. This is a full-time position that represents the Director and interacts with many units locally and internationally.

Calendar
- Manage Director’s daily calendar and schedule meetings and appointments.
Communication
- Manage Director’s incoming and outgoing communication. This may include invitations and, rarely, translating short paragraphs.
Meetings
- Coordinate meetings and take minutes of meetings when necessary.
Administration
- Collect signature on documents and ensure flow of documents is managed accurately.
Institutional Events
- Coordinating institutional events, conferences, alumni engagement events, VIP visits. This includes and is not limited to:
- Drafting and implementing itineraries
- Managing all bookings and logistics related to the event or visits (hotels, museums,
restaurants, transportation etc.) - Organizing receptions
- Planning and coordinating the logistics of the event
- Coordinating event suppliers (venues, catering companies, transportation etc. )
- Creating and managing event budget and financial reconciliation of expenses
Ideal qualifications and requirements
- Bilingual competence (Italian and English, written and spoken)
- Computer literacy – with ideally high competence of Power Point
- Verbal and written articulacy
- Professional discretion
- Strong organizational skills
