Job description

The Information Technology (IT) Support Assistant at the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Syracuse University Program in Florence provides technology support to over 90 faculty and staff and up to 400 students per semester. IT support roles include desktop, laptop, smartphone, tablet, and application support. The IT Support Assistant works collaboratively with staff on technology projects as assigned and reports to the IT manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 1-3 years relevant experience in information technologies/computer science as necessary.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (C1 or above).
  • Job Specific Qualifications
  • Specialized knowledge includes a moderate understanding of networking, IT hardware, software and how it interacts with the operating system, printer and printing capabilities, cell technologies as they pertain to the support of client devices, and mobile computing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Use computing concepts, documented procedures, and knowledge of Syracuse University systems to address a wide variety of information and communication technology support requests, including but not limited to general hardware and software break/fix issues and hardware and software installations.
  • Effectively prioritize incoming support tickets, coordinate and schedule with users, and provide cross-unit support as requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and timely incident logs in the approved issue tracking system.
  • Full time in presence position.
