The name Strasbourg means, "City of Roads," and indeed our program is located in the very heart of the new Europe. Situated in the Alsace region of France, we are just a five-minute bike ride from Germany and a one-hour train ride to Switzerland. A truly cosmopolitan city, Strasbourg is rich with social and cultural options—but still small enough for you to feel at home.

The Syracuse Center is within walking distance of the Council of Europe and the Court of Human Rights, and qualified students may intern or research at one of the Council directorates. Extensive field study to Central and Eastern Europe and historically significant Western cities gives you first-hand experience of the complex cultural and political identity of the New Europe.
